Eskar Trio

The Eskar trio is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary. Since the trio was formed, it has established a reputation as one of the absolute leading ensembles on the Danish chamber music scene, being well known for their great musicianship and passionate performances. The trio has also enjoyed great success in Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Portugal, Japan and the Netherlands.

The ensemble moves unencumbered throughout the entire trio literature, from the earliest compositions to completely new music. Several Danish composers have written works especially for the Eskar Trio, resulting in many premiere performances.

The trio has won prizes in several competitions, including first prize in the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's Chamber Music Competition, prizewinner in the Nordic Chamber Music Competition, International Chamber Music Competition in Trapani, Italy, and others.

The Eskar Trio has been featured in a vast number of radio and TV broadcasts, including a documentary on interpreting Beethoven and Brahms master works.

The trio's CD's are internationally acclaimed and have won prizes such as the Danish Radio Broadcasting Corporation's “Best Classical Recording of the Year” and “Most Outstanding CD of the month” in The Strad Magazine.

Their latest release is of the complete piano trios of Brahms. These recordings have captured great attention from the critics in Denmark and abroad.
